UI Adoption mit SAP Screen Personas
S/4HANA On-Premise does not yet offer complete coverage of processes with UIs in accordance with the SAP Fiori Design Guidelines. However, the user interface in particular represents a strong lever for increasing efficiency. In order to leverage this potential, we can use SAP Screen Personas to customize the UIs according to your needs without having to make changes to the backend, as would be necessary when using UI5.
Process Mobilization
The use of mobile devices is a normal part of everyday working life. Although UI5 interfaces are responsive and adapt to the size of the device, native applications on iOS or Android are superior to UI5 web applications in terms of usability and the use of native device features. Together with you, we define the optimal usage scenarios for native applications and develop native applications for you on iOS and Android with the help of the corresponding SAP SDKs to ensure a consistent Fiori design language.
There are three different approaches to switching to SAP S/4HANA:
Get an overview of the different implementation options for your SAP S/4HANA below.
One option is a new implementation, i.e. a completely new installation of the SAP S/4HANA system. This eliminates the need to transfer and adapt existing structures. The greenfield approach is recommended if the SAP system used is an older system in which a large number of customer-specific enhancements and modifications had to be implemented to map the processes.
Put simply, the system is implemented from scratch, often in conjunction with data migration from the original system.
Another option is system conversion. The existing system is converted to SAP S/4HANA while retaining customizing, development, data, authorizations, etc. Prior to the conversion, it must be checked whether enhancements or add-on programs can be transferred or whether adjustments are necessary.
The brownfield approach is therefore highly recommended if the existing SAP system is relatively up-to-date and is used close to the standard.
The great advantage of such a system conversion lies in the investment protection of your customized developments.
The last option is landscape transformation. This is the preferred option if several SAP and/or non-SAP systems in an existing ERP system landscape are to be consolidated. The starting point is a new SAP S/4 HANA system or the conversion of an existing system. This system is then the target system for the consolidation of the other systems.
This is a preferred solution for larger companies with a large number of systems and possibly also third-party systems (non-SAP).
In many cases, the transition to S/4HANA also implies switching the database from anyDB to SAP HANA. The planning and implementation of this transition has a significant impact on the success of the SAP S/4HANA project. The following points should be noted:
Archiving of old data to reduce the database size
If necessary, a Unicode migration of the existing SAP system
Adaptation of the custom code to SAP HANA
Migration of the database to SAP HANA
Performance analysis and, if necessary, optimization of the custom code
